Health Update: Progress in Perspective
Written and posted November 9th, 2024
Hey friends,
It’s time for another health update, and I’ll be honest—the past couple of months have been a bit frustrating. Back in September, I was down to 262 pounds, but as of now, I’m up to 269. I haven’t changed my routine much, so I’m chalking this up as a slow phase on the journey.
Interestingly, while my weight has gone up a bit, my measurements are showing a different story. In September, my hips measured 43 inches, and now they’re down to 42. My neck has also slimmed from 18 inches to 17.5, though my waist is holding steady at 48 inches. So, despite the scale, I feel like I’m moving in the right direction.
However, it does seem unlikely that I’ll hit my 250-pound goal by year’s end. Losing 19 pounds in seven weeks is probably too ambitious. It’s a bit of a disappointment, but I’m staying positive, knowing I’m still progressing. I’m sticking to my keto diet and consistently hitting my 10,000 steps daily. Though I’ve thought about ramping things up, the upcoming holiday season makes it challenging to add anything significant to my routine.
Speaking of which, the holidays are around the corner, and while I get the appeal, I could do without the intense two-month build-up every single year. I sometimes think the holidays would be more exciting if they came around every four years, like the Olympics—maybe then the whole thing would feel worth the hype. But for now, it just means the season when time slows and very little gets done.
In the end, even with the weight fluctuations, I’m glad to see progress in other areas. The journey continues, and I’ll keep taking it one step at a time—literally and figuratively. Thanks for being here with me.
